So I created this blog to give me something to do when I'm not working. With my new job, I now have a lot of spare time around the house. I also wanted an outlet to inform family on what's going on in our household and talk about my projects/hobbies related to the construction of our home theater.
I also wanted a place to let my opinions be heard regarding politics. Having grown up in a Christian, Republican household, it's only natural for me to be have a Republican line of thought. But now that I am my own person with a family and responsibilites, you begin to make your own opinions based on what you now know and see, as opposed to what you have always thought was the truth. I can hear some of my family reading this saying, "What? He's turning into a democrat!" That's not true. But at some point, we have to start admitting that your political party, whether Republican or Democratic, doesn't share 100% of your beliefs. And just because an idea is introduced by someone in your political party, doesn't mean I have to automatically agree with it to further the agenda of the party.
So I look forward to this avenue for posting my opinions and reading yours. But also a place to question what you believe in. Because if you don't know what the other side is saying/believing; you won't truly understand why you believe what you do.
